I love to read self-thought books and novel. My no.favorite is Tuesdays with Morrie. They help you learn new things. analyze your thoughts and somehow make you a better person if you will apply the ideas being told.

Its a shame that I am not reading the bible now.

Hi Tessah,
Yes, that's a good book to read. All books are good especially if they will widen our knowledge. I hope you will also read the book of life- The Bible. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Mostly classics, bestsellers, thrillers, everything by Harlan Coben and James Patterson, inspirational, Christianity....I tend to deviate away from political and chick-lit. I hate chick -lit But I read Nanny Diaries because I used to be a nanny. :-)

I like reading self-help and inspirational books. The funny thing about me is, I don't finish the book right away. I just read the chapters that interest me lol! Then after a week or so, I finish it!

Hi Wendy,
We do our own pacing in reading. What's important is that we get the essence of the book we read. I pray for your safe delivery my friend. May God's blessings be with you and your loved ones always.

Hi Sameera,
I know you are also a wide reader and a real intellectual and it shows in your posts. Writers need to read more so that their wiring skills will be further polished. I hope everything's okay with you and Kabir. I pray for the realization of all your dreams in life my dear friend. God bless you always.

For some reason I like to read books about the world changing for the worst and people being monitored and oppressed in the future.

Some examples:

* The Handmaid's Tale
* Fahrenheit 451
* The Wanting Seed
* Brave New World
* Nineteen Eight-Four

I'm also a big fan of William Gibson.

Dear Mel..I am so ashamed that I don't do a lot of reading now.
I used to read a book a day. I loved reading!
I liked Lucy Maude Montgomery books[the Anne of Green Gables author].
Jeanette Okes Christian novels, Patricia St John Sunday school children's full length stories, Theodore Epp's "Danny Orlis: series, Francena Arnold's "Not My Will" series and Grace Livingstone Hill Christians novels, and I loved Missionary biographies. "Through Gates of Splendour" is such a good book!
I am also ashamed to tell you that I don't read my Bible as much as I should!...Christian love,Terry

Ps Another great series is by Walter Lewis Wilson, "Miracles of a Doctor's Visits".
