Nope. I believe that I am a child of God, created in His own image and not evolving from a primate.

Yes.

I recognize faunal succession, because I look at the horses from Eohippus to Equus and see the changes. I've seen reports of natural selection at work in the dramatic changes to the beaks of the finch population in the Galapagos Islands over two years of extreme weather conditions. I see no way but evolution to explain the fact that a whale's flipper is more similar in internal structure to a bat's wing, or a human's hand, or even a horse's hoof than to a shark's fin; that wouldn't be a particularly efficient way to create, now, would it?

I find the laws of nature--the laws of physics, natural selection, the central dogma of protein synthesis, anything to do with internal cellular processes for that matter--to be a greater case for the divine than a literal creation. As a fantasy writer, I know that it doesn't take much work to design a world that people will accept on the surface. It takes something greater to get natural laws and keep them consistent.

Hi Viviene,
Yes, that is the Bible stand on creation. Evolution is true only within one's species. Evolution does not jump from one species to another. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you always.

I believe that God works in mysterious ways, and science is my attempt to understand the ways of God. There is a book by the fellow who worked on the Human Genome Project (who is a Christian, by the way.) The title of the book is "The Language of God." He explains very well how science and religion are not at odds.

God bless,

-Paula

Hi Paula,
Thank you so much for your explanation. I also think that science and religion should not clash but comfortably coexist. God bless.

Evolution - YES!

Apes - NO!

Evolution is a process of change and adaptation. It is scientifically proven. It can be seen in the world around us even today as various creatures relocate and adapt to their new environment.

The true theory of Evolution does not claim that humans evolved from apes. It claims that humans evolved from a shared ancestor and that apes have many human-like features.
