I have a teenaged daughter and when she has disturbing dreams we always talk about them. I believe dreams can affect our lives negatively if we don't keep them in perspective.

For instance, if she has a dream where she is being attacked, I tell her that she is just feeling overwhelmed (attacked) by some of her circumstances in life and her mind is just trying to process the garbage. I guess it could be a warning that she needs to put things in perspective and not be so stressed, but should "take it to the Lord."

There is one instance where I believe in the symbolism used by many dream interpreters, and that is the dream of someone dying. They say that a dream of death means that you are about to experience a change in life. The "death" of a relationship, a job, etc. It certainly doesn't mean that someone is going to die.

I dreamed of snakes way too often when I was younger and so I read many books on dreams. I began to see them as a sign of danger, and then I quit dreaming about them. Perhaps the snakes were just showing my own fears to me. I HATE snakes!

If the interpretation can take the "sting" out of the dream, then I'm all for it.

I believe that dreams can be interpreted---it's either a message from God or some subsconscious thoughts one tries to suppress or not know about. Some dreams are forebodings of the future.

Hi Pia,
But who shall interpret the dreams? And if they are interpreted, shall we believe the interpretation and let it affect our lives? These are questions we should seriously consider. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Sameera,
Yes, they can be interpreted but who will interpret them? I think we should meditate and ponder on the answer ourselves. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

i believe that God can reveal to us the meaning of our dreams especially if that dream came from Him. God has given each of us gifts like gift of discernment, gift of prophecy, even gift to interpret dreams and tongues. if we seek Him, i believe He will reveal things to us.

if we got the interpretation or understanding of our dreams, it can affect our lives for the better or even the other way around. often times people go to the wrong source to get answers and that is really dangerous.

you asked if dreams can be interpreted and if it can affect our lives? my answer is yes.

blessings to you, bro.

I think it's possible to interpret the dreams. That would be the most precious activity - the comfort and inspiration we are receiving while dreaming can be compared with a sip of fresh air on a dusty road.
Dreams can be interpreted, yet do we need that? Do we need the interpretations or the acceptance of the revelation?
As I see a smile on a street, I know for sure that this passerby is not a stranger, but good dreamer. And I smile too. Isn't that not a miracle?

Hi sis Pia,
Ah, words of wisdom from an inspired mind. Yes, I agree with you. If the dream came from God, then its interpretation will also come from Him. It is usually a revelation from God Himself and He will give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments sis. God bless you always.

My first husband died and I had such a hard time. We had only been married a year. My biggest fear was if he was OK where ever he was.

After about a month of his death, I had the most vivid dream of him standing before me in our home. I asked him if he was OK and he just smiled from ear to ear.

I woke up feeling better than ever when the knowledge that he was fine. Call it what you will but I believe dreams are there to aid and teach at times.

Hi Robin,
Yes, I agree with you. Apparently, the dream was meant to assuage your troubled spirit. God wanted you to have peace of mind and to move on. And the dream served its purpose. You were able to move on and have peace after that dream. Thanks for your visit and for sharing with us your most cherished memories. I really appreciate that. God bless you always.
