there's a promise in the bible that says "Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life..." that is if you make the Lord your shepherd. and several promises follow. if you could call the Lord a "good luck charm" then yes i believe! but more than anything else, i believe that the Lord is our rewarder.

Definitely a big NO, Mel. I may not be that religious but I believe in logic. Lucky charms have no logic for me. The funny thing is more and more Catholics are believing in lucky charms which I believe Chinese have influenced them so much.

I think Kris Aquino is a great influence to many, and she is very vocal about lucky charms.

Hi sis Pia,
Many people especially Asians believe in so many superstitions. These affect their lives in so many ways. Christians have different viewpoint on this. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Angel,
Ha,ha,ha, yes, I agree with you. Kris Aquino has a lot of influence on many people especially her fans. But she has Chinese blood in her veins, that explains for her being so superstitious. Thanks for your visit and valued comments. God bless you always.

Hmmm in some ways I don't like believing in any kind of charms, good or bad. I feel if I had superstitious good luck charms, then I might also be superstitious about other things - like if I dream something bad happens etc. I'd rather just think what happens is what is meant to happen, and I have no control over that. That being said, if there is some kind of good luck charm that helps lift our mood or makes us feel more confident then I do believe that will work to some extent, but I don't have one.

Hi Ms Pennylane,
Your answers are very philosophical indeed and I respect your viewpoint. Probably, it's all in the mind. Thanks for your visit and viewpoint. God bless.

I'm not Catholic, Chinese or Filipino, I'm American, Caucasian and first of all a believer in Christ. My trust is in God alone. Psalm 62 repeatedly expresses this principle..."He only is my rock and my salvation"..."My soul, wait thou only upon God"..."He is my defence". So, a big resounding NO to any kind of good luck charm!

My concern, though, is that if a person does believe in charms or whatever, by that a belief a person may open a door for occult influence to enter his/her lives. I guarantee you, such influence is not in your best interests. Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, so be careful who/what you trust.

Hi Christina,
Thanks for the timely admonition. Your warning is well taken. Yes, I agree with you. Wrong knowledge can lead to disastrous consequences. As the Bibles says, "you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." Thanks for your visit and valuable comments. God bless.

Hi mel! this is bestre.

I hope you dont mind I made use of the "name/url" thing.

First of all I wanna thank you for dropping at my other blog. I apologize for not frequently commenting here. As per your request for me to join to that site, I think I will pass for now. May be next year when I will be a full time blogger. In that way I can be as active as any blogger is. Hope you understand.

As per your post, I believe on good luck charms. There is nothing to lose if I believe on them. There are some bracelets that my mother as well as friends which they gave me before I graduated in my second course. I was not sure then if I will graduate. So, I decided to use that bracelets every now and then. The thing is, I graduated and I did not expect it.

Happy blogging!

Hi Bestre,
It's all in the mind. We sometimes get what we wish for but in the long run, trusting God is always the best instead of any material thing. Thanks for your visit. You can join anytime you wish. There is no pressure here. God bless.

Hi Mel! Sorry to have been "missing" for so long. As usual, you are still coming up with fascinating questions that really make us think.

I often carry a crucifix with me to remind me of my faith and to remind me to pray. I also have items in my home that show any visitors my faith in Christ.

Good luck charms don't really work by themselves. After all, they're just objects. But sometimes they bring hope to the people who use them, and possibly can change the outcome of a situation. Like you said, it's all in the mind, but the mind can be a powerful tool.

God bless!
