Hi Arvin,
Mabuti naman at lahat ay memorable sa iyo. Salamat sa dalaw. Pagpalain ka nang Diyos sa tuwina.

Hi Rose,
Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Dhemz,
Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi sis Pia,
Yes, in the Philippines, Easter egg hunt is celebrated only in malls or in plush subdivisions. It's great that you experienced that and actually won a prize because of it. I never had the opportunity to experience that. But that is a foreign celebration and is no big deal here in our country. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Rossel,
Thank you very much for the link. I really appreciate that. Yes, even if we are just at home, our easter celebration can still be memorable by meditating on the passion, death and eventual resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Well, that was when I was a kid where my brothers and I went egg hunting and we're all scrambling for the chocolates. But when I grew older, we just went to a Catholic Mass, and then that's it. There's really nothing exciting about going to a Catholic mass.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Bing,
There are still something good about Catholic rituals. We seldom celebrate Easter in the Philippines with Easter Egg Hunt the way it is being celebrated in the US. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Yes we did attend several Easter egg hunts when we were kids because of my father's job before. They
had these annual Easter egg hunts for families of their employees.

I did not say all the rituals....what I said about the Catholic mass. I did not find anything or any meaningful lesson when I attended masses. Nothing. It's like just stand, sit, sing, and listen mindlessly anxious for the time when it ends.
I grew up Catholic but never find any distinctive significant spiritual lesson from it.
But I am thankful for my parents who taught me through Catholic rituals that there is a God----forgiving, loving, merciful, kind and gracious.

Hi Bingkee,
We all go through the same process of spiritual developments. Being born and raised as Catholics had their own redeeming values while we were in it. But like all others in life, we outgrow that for something more meaningful. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

One year my birthday fell very close to Easter. My family combined our Easter celebration with a celebration of my birthday. Granted, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ is sacred but as a child, I didn't have that focus. It was just nice to be with my family and have birthday cake on Easter!

I hope that your Easter was blessed Mel.

Hi Jennifer,
Oh belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY my friend. I did not know that your birthday falls very close to Easter. That was indeed a very memorable Easter celebration when your family combined your birthday with the Easter celebration. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
