(Wonderful Philippines Series # 2) The Great Whale Sharks of Donsol, Philippines- The Gentle Giants

(This is not a paid advertisement)

Welcome to the island paradise of Donsol, Sorsogon, Philippines where you can marvel and interact with the gentle giants of the seaworld- the great whaleshark or as the natives call them- Butanding. They abound in the sea of the tropical island of Donsol where you can rent a boat and diving gears to see this marvel of the great sea as they frolic and have fun in the sunny and balmy sea of Donsol. My friend- Rose Cottrill was born and raised in this tropical island paradise and have seen this marvelous beauty of the seven seas in her entire life in Sorsogon before migrating to the US.

Come to the tropical islands of the Philippines where hospitality is a trait of all Filipinos and where warm smiles are everywhere and where you can see the tarsier, the butanding or whaleshark and countless sights and sounds at very affordable prices. Hi Dhemz,
Hindi pa ako nakakatikim ng pumpkin pie. Masarap siguro ano? Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

I love the site. You have a lot of good posts here. I have a site as well that provides inspiration and guidance to people around the world. I was wondering if we could do a link exchange, so we can tell our visitors about both of our sites. Let me know.

Hi Mel:
That is really an interesting sea creature! Is it a whale of some sorts? It's such a mellow and human friendly animal. I've never heard of this paradise before. Glad you shared it.

Hi Jason,
Thanks for the compliments but as always, TO GOD BE THE GLORY. I already included in the blogrolls of my 3 blogs. Thanks and God bless.

Hi Rose Belle,
There are actually many inexpensive tourist sites in the Philippines that are relatively unknown because of lack of write ups and advertising. I just featured this island in the Philippines where one can hire a pumpboat and diving gears to see these wonderful and gentle giant creatures of the sea. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

I remember when the locals used to kill butandings Kuya. That's when no one was giving an attention to it. But when the law was created, the locals started to appreciate it and take care of the lovely butandings!

Thank you po for featuring my hometown here, I am so happy to see this post!

Hi Dorothy,
Nothing beats the thrill of interacting with these giant gentle creatures. They are so gentle that they allow people to swim alongside them. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Rose,
Yes, these gentle giant creatures are creating tourism opportunities for the Philippines. Even if the going price for whaleshark meat is 1,500 pesos per kilo among the Chinese market, our fishermen must respect these creatures. It's a good thing our government banned the killing of these sea creatures. They together with the lovable tarsiers have put the Philippines in tourists map. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Hi Bambie,
Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
