when I was in the Philippines I always wanted to live in the urban areas, easier to get around.... but as I grew older, I wanted to live in the quiet places:) I'm very grateful that I'm living my dreams now^-^ I loved looking at the sunset on the veranda, the nice clouds, the hills and valleys (which is very green during spring) and the chirping of the birds that's waking me up in the morning! ah, I can't believe... i'm living in paradise:)) it's not that far from where I came from (island)^-^

Oh , I just posted an article in my blog just a few minutes ago --similar to this.
Come and take a look and you will see what I mean by my answer to this question.

My answer is a mixture. As I am young at the moment I think living in an urban area is great. There is excitement and there are always people around. But as I get older and start a family I am sure I'll want to live somewhere a little quieter.

Hi Shawie,
You are very fortunate to realize your dream of living in an area close to nature and very idyllic. Thanks for you visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Bingkee,
Yes you are happy living in the suburbs. There are trees lining the roads and patches of greens everywhere. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Penny,
I think that is an established living pattern of most people. They want to be in the center of commerce when they are younger and then they want to enjoy the beauty and calming presence of nature as they mature. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

So often, I think I want to go home. We were rural but within 10 minutes of driving to the grocery store. A small town.

Where we are now is definitely Urban and not my favorite. Still, we are blessed to have a home in a safe neighborhood. I am not going to complain.

Hi Mel for 38 years I grew up in the city. Everytime we visited my maternal grandparents in the "bukid" we had a blast. I climbed trees, run through the hills, splashing water in the creek, it is a memory that I'd wish for. Now here in MI though we are not too far away from city life but we are considered in the country side and I love it. At night I open a little of our sliding door and just hear the chirping of the cecadas and the crooking of the frogs. And in the morning I love to hear the chirping of the birds and the fresh breeze of the air. So I love the country side than the urban area.

Hi Mel, I think you did not understand my post there. My whole post stated that I don't like living in the suburbs. I prefer the city. I am not happy living with so many trees, woods, leaves, grass and shrubs are more than people. Oh...squirrels, deers, raccoons and skunks. I forgot to mention that.

I prefer living in an urban area where I am near to stores, hospitals, and other people. Visiting rural areas is nice, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Hi Jen,
Our place of residence is always the most comfortable place to live. It is just a matter of preference whether we prefer living in a rural or an urban area. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Lim,
Yes I always read in your posts the beauty of living in a rural area. Just always exercise caution and discretion in everything for your safety's sake. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hi Bingkee,
It's just a matter of my ignorance of the word suburbs. I always use the term rural and urban. I thought suburbs was also urban. My mistake, hehehe, lol. Thanks for your correction. God bless.

Hi Karen,
Living in an urban area has a lot of advantages. Yes, we can always visit the rural areas if we want to commune with nature. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.

Hello Mel..I want a combination of both if I may.I guess that will not be possible..but if I can make a home where my mind can be productive, my soul reflective and my spirit enlightened with my heart inspired, then perhaps, wherever I may be, it does not matter.

Thanks for your blog. A brilliant person you are, Mel. You always connect with all your readers. Ingat! :-)

Hi sis Pia,
Yes that's a compromise- living in the city where you work and visiting the rural area for rest and recreation during weekends. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
