i can only remember one. i was in grade three. i was awarded best girl in school. my dad went up the stage to pin my medal. i was so happy and proud. my dad brought me to a store and bought me coloring books which i've been asking for from my mom. then when we got home, my mom and dad fought (they have their own issues and nothing to do with the coloring books). i was happy then sad. over all, i hated that day and asked God couldn't i be happy without you getting my happiness back???

well, of course i know better now. things happen for a reason.

God bless you, bro.

Another interesting question here, Mel.

Actually, my childhood is far from normal but no, I was not a child superstar like Nino Mulach.

Kidding aside, my childhood was very memorable since I started making a living at the age of 12 because of severe poverty. But of course, there are also funny moments and this is what I want to share.

When I was around 10 yrs. old, my playmates won't allow me to join the Jackstone game so I did the most disgusting thing ever.
I picked one Sampalok seed which they were using and put it inside my nose. So they ran after me.
But to my surprise, I cannot get it back so I was rushed to PGH and I went home with a big X bandage on my face. Of course, the crossing was my nose...lol!

My daughter did not stop laughing when I told her the story.

Hi Pia,
Yes, it's sad that your most memorable experience as a child would be marred by an unfortunate event. Well anyway, you had your fondest memories of that moment and nobody can steal that away from you. Thanks for sharing your most memorable experience as a child to us. God bless you always my dear sister and friend.

Hi Guardian Angel,
I really admire you when you have to eke out a living at the tender age of twelve. That sure served you well in your latter years. The anecdote about the sampaloc seed which you placed in your nose was very funny indeed if it were not semi tragic. Oh the funny and horrible things we do when we were kids. I survived falling in an old well in the province of my mom and until now I was wondering how I survived that. Thanks for sharing your most memorable moment as a kid to us. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Hi Sameera,
She's fine and in grade 1 now. She just recently celebrated her 7th birthday last Aug. 26. She's my princess and we are very close since I serve as father and mother to her because my wife is still working in the US. But I know someday we will all be reunited. Yes, we all have exciting and memorable experiences as children. They served us well in our struggles in life. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always my dear friend.

There are so many ...I grew up poor. So I have fond memories of childhood, like my father would make me paper boats when it rains, my mom buying me clay pots at the palengke for toys, having rice and toyo for dinner, me pretending to be asleep because I wanted my father to carry me, playing bahay-bahayan with scraps of wood as our "house", my father teaching me how to read before I could go to school and my mother taking me to her work and bragging how smart I am....lots and it gives me so many smiles in my heart.

Hi Chronic Chick Talk,
You are always in my prayers together with Shiela, Emmyrose, Pia and Shielalu. I admire your guts and courage in facing the daunting trials in your lives. And the mere fact that you can stand and fight and try to live as normal a life as you're doing really amazes me. I know the good Lord has something so special for all of you. Just hang in there and fight and you will overcome all your trials in His own perfect time. Whatever happens, never compromise the integrity of your soul for that will be your final deliverance when you meet Him face to face and He will say to you, "Well done good and faithful servant." Thanks for your visit my courageous friend. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Iim sure that my most memorable experience when I was a child was when my family survived a terrible tornado that destroyed my city.

I remember the scary things...being in the basement under some furniture, and then this horrible roar and crashing as it blew over our house.

On the other hand, I also remember the whole city coming together to help each other- people peering in our broken house to ask if everyone was okay just moments after the storm, the sign my teachers left outside my school "everyone is okay", and I remember the benefit concert that my dad organised to help people who had lost their homes.

So even tho it was a bad experience, many beautiful things happened anyway, and I got to see the beauty of love in action first hand:)

My best childhood memory was when I was I was graduating from primary school. In my fifth year, I topped the class on all three semesters. In my sixth year, after topping the class during the first semester, I had a double promotion and was sent directly to class 7.

When I went to class 7, People thought i will find things difficult since i missed all what was thought in the first semester...but No!

I topped the class during the second and third semester, and during the final public exams, I did not only top my school but also topped the whole center in which i wrote the exams.

During graduation, I had more gifts than I could carry and my name was engraved on the school's honor roll rock as the best student ever!!!

I always pray God for repetition of such successes.
