(UPDATE) Eight-time Filipino world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao was given a clean bill of health Tuesday after undergoing tests in a Los Angeles hospital for body pains, specifically in the kidney area, during his fight against Mexican Antonio Margarito at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas last Sunday, a report aired over GMA Network’s dzBB radio said.
Pacquiao annexed the WBC Super Welterweight crown, his historic eighth title, via unanimous decision over Margarito.
In an MRI exam, doctors discovered no fractures or ruptures in Pacquiao’s right side, which took a massive blow from Margarito during the sixth round. The Saranggani congressman had been complaining about pain in that area since the fight.
The report said Pacquiao was on his way to Lake Tahoe for a scheduled concert.
